What MCP is
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets an AI assistant use the tools of another service. IN-STORE runs its own MCP server, the IN-STORE connector. Once you connect it, your assistant can look into your cabinet and use the same buttons you use, without you opening the website.
The connector address is https://in-store.ca/api/mcp. It is the same for every client: signing in decides whose account the assistant works with, and it only ever sees that account.
Which assistants can connect
- Claude on the web, in the desktop app and on your phone, as a custom connector.
- ChatGPT, from the plugin directory once our listing is approved, or as a custom MCP server where available.
- Codex CLI and Claude Code in a terminal, with a personal token from your cabinet.
- Any other assistant that supports remote MCP servers, either by signing in or with a personal token.
What the assistant can do
- Media plan: show what is waiting for your review, open a post, approve it, move it to another time, reject it or ask the writer for changes.
- Writing: create a new post, edit any part of it, choose its channels and the text for each channel.
- Pictures and media: make a new picture with AI and set it on a post, bring back an earlier picture, rename, tag, crop or hide files, add alt text.
- Carousels, stories and videos made from a post.
- Published content: unpublish or restore an article, remove a post from your social networks.
- Fact checks of an article, and new post ideas from a link you share.
- Analytics in plain words, reports, news digests and the competitors you follow.
- Your settings: intake answers, brand voice, picture settings, channels and styles.
- Support tickets, notifications and searching this Help Centre.
What it never does
- It never sees or changes money. Subscriptions, invoices, payments, prices and advertising spend stay in the web cabinet.
- It never manages accounts: sign-up, passwords, team members and closing your account stay in the cabinet.
- It never deletes a post from your media plan, publishes immediately or retries a failed publication. Those buttons stay in the cabinet.
- It never goes beyond your own permissions. A client connection sees only that client.
Every change works in two steps: the assistant first shows exactly what it is about to do and acts only after your yes.
